The Volatile and fixed oils we use are chosen for their safety and non-inflammatory nature. When possible, we use extra-gentle, organic oils.
For certain oils, we use the chemotype 'LINALOOL' variant. For instance, possible sensitizing by Thyme essential oil is eliminated by using , linalool, the safest variant. The same goes for Green Myrtle Essential oil, the linalool variant is used. Organic Melissa, also because of its gentleness compared to regular Melissa.
Essential oils like Geranium, Lavender, Ravensara, Frankincense and Roman Chamomile have been used over many centuries and specifically indicated for the treatment of babies from many ailments.

Apricot Kernel oil is chosen as the base for many synergies for its light, smooth feel and because it absorbs readily into delicate skin. It is non-drying and nurtures and moisturises the skin.

Absolutely no fragrances, chemical preservatives, additives or 'filler' oils are used.
No "Fatty Alcohols" and "Fatty Esters" which are used by many top brand Organic products. These are derivatives and not present in the natural holistic state.

Essential Oils, are the plants volatile oils, highly potent, as their action indicates and have to be treated with respect. The Synergies, when used properly, go more than skin-deep and affect the systems of the body, activating the body to heal itself unlike medications which only treat the symptoms the body throws out and not the deep-rooted cause of imbalance which these oils do. This is done because they act on the Lymphatic System, activating lymphocytes and producing antibodies to invading antigens and pathogens in the body.

Please understand that each individual's reaction to a natural oil varies and absolutely recommend Patch Testing especially because of the tender age of the child and already existing issues of sensitivity.

Patch testing - a suggested method.
1. Place a little of the synergy on the inside of baby’s wrist or ankle.
2. Leave for 20-30 minutes to allow time for a severe reaction to show. To eliminate sensitivity altogether, wait for 12-24 hours.
3. If there is no irritation after this time, proceed with using it.
If irritation does occur, dilute by 50% in any fatty oil, olive, almond, etc and patch test on a different area.
4. DO NOT use the oil if irritation occurs after this.

Sensitization- It is recommended by practioners to use aromatherapy oils for not more than 8 weeks at a time and give the body a resting period of 2 weeks. We would recommend that you use the products for children not more than 4 weeks, if applying twice daily, and give a few days of rest before applying again. In this time, you can notice the effect of the oils used beginning to be taken over by the body's systems and its state of healing should improve or atleast stay the same.

Because we do not use preservatives, and the shelf life of many of these oils is rarely over 1 year, we make small batches and bottle in dark containers. Store in a cool dark place and refrigerate if using for more than 3 months. Refrigerate in summer.

Our products are not tested on animals.
